Chapter 1: Your First Steps in Allraan 🗺️

Every legendary quest starts with a single step. To make sure your path is paved with victory, you need to master the basics of exploration, resource management, and your own awesome potential.

Navigating the World of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Allraan is a huge world filled with secrets. Getting around efficiently is the first skill every great leader needs to learn.

  • Prioritize the Dash Boots 👟. Your number one, most important early-game goal is to find the Dash Boots. They are in a chest inside the Abandoned Mine dungeon. These boots make you run way faster on the map and in dungeons, making the whole game feel better and exploration super fun. Do not leave the mine without them.
  • Unlock Fast Travel ASAP ✈️. Who likes tedious backtracking? Nobody. To unlock fast travel, you need to get to the city of Hishahn in the main story. There, you’ll meet a woman named Carrie. Finish her quick quest, and you’ll get the power to teleport to any place you’ve already visited. It’s a total game-changer!
  • Understand Item Stacking 🎒. Your starting inventory of 30 slots feels small, right? But hey, many items stack! For example, six Healing Herbs or two Revival Medicines only use one slot each. Pay attention to these stacks to carry more loot.
  • Don’t Be a Hoarder 💰. Early-game gear gets outdated fast. Sell old armor and accessories you’re not using anymore. This clears up inventory space and gives you a nice flow of Baqua (money!) for things that actually matter.
  • Expand Your Inventory 🛍️. Once you get to Hishahn, you can recruit a character named Nell. Put Nell in your party’s support slot, and BAM—your inventory instantly grows by 20 slots. Later, building and upgrading the Stowpack Shop at your Castle HQ gives you four permanent 10-slot upgrades.
  • Use the Town Map 🏙️. When you’re in a town, just hit the map button. It will show you all the important spots like inns, shops, and your next objective. No more getting lost in big cities!

Essential Early Game Priorities

Your first few hours in the game are super important. Making smart choices early on will make the rest of your adventure way smoother.

  • Stockpile Healing Items 🧪. In the beginning, healing magic kinda stinks. The basic Water Rune spell heals a tiny 40 HP for 10 MP. A simple Healing Herb does the same thing and costs way less. Always have a good stock of healing items before you head into a dungeon.
  • Save Your Baqua, Don’t Buy Armor 🐷. It’s tempting to buy shiny new armor from shops, but don’t do it! You’ll find better gear for free in treasure chests while exploring. Your Baqua is much better spent on upgrading your core party’s weapons at a smithy.
  • Weapon Upgrades > Armor Upgrades ⚔️. Upgrading a weapon gives a big, direct boost to damage. Killing enemies faster means you take less damage, so a good offense is the best defense! Focus on upgrading weapons for your main damage dealers first.
  • Embrace the Trading Posts 💹. Many towns have a trading post where you can buy and sell goods. Prices change from place to place. This is the best way to make a lot of Baqua. Buy items when the price is low (blue down arrows 📉) and sell them in another town where the price is high (red up arrows 📈).
  • Track Trading Profits for Recruitment 🤝. Some characters will only join you after you’ve made a certain amount of money from trading. For example, the trader Hogan requires you to make 50,000 Baqua in profit. Keep that in mind while you become a master merchant.
  • Appraise Unknown Items ❓. You’ll find unidentified items from monsters and chests. Take them to an Appraiser’s Shop to see what they are. But hold on, don’t sell them right away!
  • Hold Onto Unique Appraised Items 💎. Some appraised items, like the Pearl Pocket Watch, are needed to recruit certain characters later. It’s a good idea to keep at least one of each unique appraised item in your storage just in case.

Understanding Your Hero’s Stats and Growth

Eiyuden Chronicle has a classic JRPG stat system, but it doesn’t always tell you what’s what. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Decode the Stat Sheet: PWR 💪. Power determines how much damage you do with regular physical attacks and most SP-based skills.
  • Decode the Stat Sheet: MAG ✨. Magic affects the damage of your spells and how much you heal with magic.
  • Decode the Stat Sheet: DEX 🎯. Dexterity controls your accuracy (hit rate) and helps you dodge attacks. It also helps with critical hits.
  • Decode the Stat Sheet: SPD 🏃. Speed decides who goes first in battle. The turn order is right at the top of the screen. Higher Speed means you act sooner.
  • Decode the Stat Sheet: PDF & MDF 🛡️. Physical Defense and Magical Defense reduce the damage you take from physical and magical attacks. Even a small boost here can make a big difference.
  • Decode the Stat Sheet: LCK 🍀. Luck is the main factor for your critical hit chance. It might also affect other random things, like item drop rates.
  • Utilize the EXP Catch-Up Mechanic 🚀. Eiyuden Chronicle has an awesome “rubber band” experience system. If you put a low-level character in a party with high-level ones and fight tough enemies, the low-level character will get a TON of EXP, often jumping 10-20 levels in one battle!
  • Never Grind for New Recruits 🙅. Because of the catch-up mechanic, you never have to waste time grinding levels for a new hero. Just pop them into your main party for a few fights in a high-level area, and they’ll be ready to go in no time. This system lets you experiment with your party all the time!
  • Benched Characters Don’t Gain EXP (Initially) 🛋️. Normally, only the characters in your active battle party (the six in the front and back rows) get experience. Characters in the Support or Attendant slots do not.
  • Build the Drill Grounds for Passive EXP 🏋️. Once you get your Castle HQ, you can build the Drill Grounds. This will give a passive experience bonus to all the characters not in your active party, helping keep everyone leveled up.
  • Characters Heal on Level-Up ⭐. A character’s HP and MP are fully restored when they level up. This can be a real lifesaver in long dungeons, so watch that EXP bar before you use a pricey healing item.

Chapter 2: Mastering the Art of Combat in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes ⚔️

The turn-based combat looks simple, but there’s a deep system of positioning, resource management, and smart defense to master.

Formations, Positioning, and Attack Ranges

Where you place your heroes is just as important as what you tell them to do.

  • Know Your Ranges 📏. Every character’s weapon has a Short (S), Medium (M), or Long (L) range. This decides who they can attack and from where.
  • Short-Range Characters Belong in Front 🤺. S-range fighters (swords, fists) can only attack the enemy’s front line, and only when they are in your front line. They can’t do anything from the back row.
  • Long-Range Characters Are Safest in Back 🏹. L-range fighters (bows, magic) can hit any enemy from either row. They’re usually fragile, so stick them in the back row to keep them safe.
  • Medium-Range is Flexible, Not Always Safe 🤔. M-range fighters can hit the enemy’s front and back rows from your front line, but only the enemy’s front row from your back line. Many M-range characters are tough and make great front-line tanks who can still snipe the enemy’s back line.
  • The Back Row Isn’t a Safe Haven 😱. Lots of enemies have Medium-range attacks too. This means they can target your squishy mages and archers in the back. Always make sure your back-row characters can take a hit.

The Flow of Battle: Managing SP and MP

Winning often comes down to managing two key resources: Skill Points (SP) and Magic Points (MP).

  • SP is Random at First 🎲. At the start of a battle, a small amount of SP is given out randomly. After that, everyone gets exactly 1 SP at the start of their turn. This makes it hard to rely on a big SP skill on turn one.
  • Conserve MP for Bosses 💧. MP is limited and doesn’t refill after battles unless you use an item or rest. In dungeons, save your MP for the big, powerful spells you’ll need for the boss fight at the end.
  • Use Charge Characters for SP-Free Damage 💪. Characters like Yusuke have a “Charge Up” skill. They defend for a turn to build power, making their next attack hit like a truck. This is a great way to do huge damage without using any SP or MP, and it can even stack twice!
  • Identify 1-SP Skills for Infinite Use ♾️. If a character starts a battle with at least 1 SP and has a skill that only costs 1 SP, they can use it every single turn. Since they get 1 SP back at the start of the next round, they can use it forever!

Exploiting Weaknesses: A Guide to Attributes

Every attack has an attribute. Using the right one against an enemy’s weakness is key.

  • Master the Elemental Cycle 🌀. The magic elements have a classic rock-paper-scissors thing going on: Fire 🔥 > Wind 💨 > Earth 🌍 > Water 💧 > Fire 🔥.
  • Light and Dark Are Mutually Weak ☀️ Bvs. 🌙. Light and Dark elements are super-effective against each other.
  • Pay Attention to Physical Attributes 👊. These are just as important as elements for crushing enemy defenses.
AttributeEffectBest Used Against
Slash 🗡️Standard physical damage.Unarmored, general-purpose targets.
Thrust 🤺Standard physical damage.Unarmored, general-purpose targets.
Blunt 🔨Deals damage directly to an enemy’s Armor.Heavily armored enemies (Golems, Knights).
Grapple 🥋Bypasses enemy Armor entirely.Heavily armored enemies.
Aerial 🦅Deals extra damage to flying enemies.Flying enemies (Birds, Bats, Wyverns).
  • Build Parties for Dungeons 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦. Before you go into a new area, think about the enemies you’ll face. Going into a mine full of Golems? Bring characters with Blunt and Grapple attacks. Heading to a mountain? Bring Aerial and Throw-type heroes.

The Best Defense: Understanding Defensive Skills

The “Defend” command is way more than just taking less damage. Each character has a unique defensive skill that can change the whole battle.

Defensive SkillKey UsersEffect
Defense 🛡️Most UnitsTake half damage for one turn. The standard.
Charge Up 💪Yusuke, Galdorf, ScarlettDefend while building power for a massive next attack. Stacks x2.
Dodge / Expert Evasion 🤸Lian, Hildi, Faye, HakuginIncreases Evasion for three turns, potentially avoiding all damage.
Shield 🪄Mellore, Francesca, MarkusCreates a magic barrier that absorbs a set amount of damage.
Taunting Counter 😠IugoTaunts an enemy and might hit them with a powerful counterattack.
Taunting Evasion 😎Perrielle, CJTaunts an enemy and greatly boosts evasion for three turns.
Cover Row and Counter 🛡️➡️⚔️ReynaDefends the entire row and can counterattack any hit on that row.
Powerful War Cry 🗣️DijkstraRaises the physical attack of all allies for the turn.
Flawless Defense ✨Yuthus, MaureusReduces all damage taken to 1/10th for one turn. Amazing!
Return Magic 🔄Momo, IshaWhen hit by magic, automatically hits back for half the damage.
Endure 😤El AlicantoAbsorbs enemy attacks to recover SP, turning damage into a resource.

Chapter 3: Advanced Tactics for the Alliance 🧠

You’ve mastered the basics. Now it’s time for the deep strategies that will help you beat the game’s toughest challenges.

Unlocking the Secrets of Boss Gimmicks

Many boss fights are more like puzzles than pure damage races.

  • Look for Environmental Gimmicks 🏗️. In some boss fights, you can use the environment as a weapon. Look for things like cranes, boulders, or cover spots you can interact with to deal huge damage or avoid a killer attack.
  • Every Boss Has a “Hidden” Gimmick 🤫. Even without obvious objects, most bosses have a unique trick. For example, the Ancient Seed boss counters every single physical attack. If you don’t notice this, you’ll take a lot of pointless damage. Always watch a new boss for a turn or two before going all out.
  • Beware the Shifting Turn Tracker ⚠️. The turn order at the top of the screen can change! The most common way this happens is when you use a character’s turn to open a treasure chest that appears mid-battle. Doing that will move that character to the very end of the turn order for that round.
  • Plan Your Turns Before Confirming ✅. Since the turn tracker can shift, always double-check the final turn order before you confirm your party’s actions. You don’t want to set up a life-saving heal only to have your healer’s turn get pushed back until after the boss attacks!

Strategic Use of Hero Combos

Hero Combos are awesome, powerful attacks with two or more characters, but they have a secret.

  • Hero Combo Damage is Divided ➗. This is a huge, unexplained mechanic: the total damage of a Hero Combo is divided by the number of people in it. This often means a two-person combo will do less total damage than if both characters just used their regular attacks.
  • Use Attack Combos for Utility, Not Damage 🔧. So why use them? For their special properties! Many Hero Combos can bypass armor, can’t be countered, or happen faster in the turn order. Use them to get around a specific defense, not just for raw damage.
  • Prioritize Non-Attack Combos ❤️. The best Hero Combos are often the ones that heal or buff your party. The combo between Francesca and Falward, for example, costs only 3 SP and heals the whole party for 50% of their max HP. That’s an amazing party-wide heal that doesn’t use any MP!
  • Auto-Battle Ignores Hero Combos 🤖. The auto-battle AI will never use a Hero Combo. You have to input them manually every time.

Leading the Charge: Strategies for War Battles 🏰

At key story moments, you’ll command entire armies in big tactical battles.

  • Prepare Before Every War Battle 💪. Before you start a war mission, make sure your main heroes’ weapons are fully upgraded and their runes are set. The strength of your legions is directly tied to the strength of the characters leading them.
  • Understand Unit Types infantry. There are four main unit types: Infantry 🧍, Cavalry 🐎, Archers 🏹, and Mages 🧙. They each have strengths and weaknesses, and different commanders give boosts to certain types.
  • Use Cavalry for Flanking 🏇. Legions made of only Cavalry units can move two spaces on the grid per turn instead of one. Use their speed to get around the enemy or reach objectives fast.
  • Let the Enemy Come to You 🚶➡️. A great strategy is to move your legions one space forward on the first turn and then just hold your ground. This usually baits the enemy into attacking you, creating bottlenecks and letting you focus your fire.
  • Use Commander Skills Wisely 💡. Commander skills can totally change a battle. Use skills like Kassius’s “Provoke” to lock an enemy legion in place, or use skills like Seign’s to stop a powerful enemy while you deal with others.
  • Focus Fire on Key Targets 🎯. In battles where you just need to beat one enemy commander, don’t get stuck fighting their whole army. Use your strongest legions to punch a hole in their lines and attack the main target with everything you’ve got.
  • Mind Your Facing 👀. The direction your legions are facing is important. A legion attacked from the side or back is at a disadvantage. Always try to meet the enemy head-on.

Chapter 4: Forging a Mighty Alliance 🤝

The real strength of your cause is in the allies you gather. Recruiting all 120 heroes and building an amazing headquarters is your ultimate goal.

How to Recruit Every Hero (Spoiler-Free)

Finding every hero seems tough, but these simple rules will make it much easier.

  • Revisit Every Location 🔄. New characters often show up in old towns after you finish big story events. Make it a habit to go back and talk to everyone again whenever the story moves forward.
  • Talk to Everyone, Everywhere 💬. Many potential recruits are just hanging out, looking like regular NPCs. Talk to every single person in every town, inn, and shop. You never know who you’ll find!
  • Explore Your Own Castle HQ 🏰. As your headquarters gets bigger, new events and characters will appear right inside its walls. Walk through your whole castle regularly to trigger these events.
  • Recruit B’baba, the Seer 🔮. Once your HQ reaches Level 2, you can recruit B’baba in Daphan Village. Once she joins, you can build the Divination Parlor. For a small fee, she’ll give you a clue about where a potential recruit is, telling you which town or area to search. She’s your built-in, spoiler-free recruitment guide!
  • There Are No Permanently Missable Characters ✅. Relax! You cannot permanently lock yourself out of recruiting anyone. All 119 other heroes can be recruited right up until the very end of the game. Explore at your own pace and don’t stress!

Building Your Castle HQ: An Upgrade Priority Guide

Your castle is more than a home; it’s the engine of your alliance. Upgrading the right things first is key.

  1. Priority #1: The Mission Guild 📜. This is the single most important facility. While you can find basic materials in the world, the rare, high-tier materials you need for late-game upgrades come almost exclusively from sending your benched heroes on missions from the guild. Build and upgrade it ASAP!
  2. Build Your Resource Generators Early 🪵🧱. To build stuff, you need materials. Immediately build the Woodcutter’s Cabin (Lumber) and the Stone Quarry (Stone). They’ll passively generate these common materials for you.
  3. Upgrade Your Resource Depot 🏦. Your castle can only hold so many materials. Upgrade the Resource Depot capacity often so the resources your facilities generate don’t go to waste.
  4. Invest in the Smithy 🔨. Having a smithy in your castle lets you upgrade weapons to their max level. This is essential for keeping your party at its best.
  5. Build the Stowpack Shop 🛍️. This shop, run by Nell, gives you permanent upgrades to your personal inventory size. It’s a massive quality-of-life improvement.
  6. Unlock the Mysterious Room 🌀. This facility in your castle basement is the ultimate endgame spot for leveling up characters and farming rare runes from super-powered boss rematches.
  7. The HQ is a Growth Cycle 🌱. Developing your HQ is a loop: Recruit heroes ➡️ Build facilities ➡️ Facilities generate resources ➡️ Resources upgrade your HQ level ➡️ Upgraded HQ lets you recruit new heroes and build new facilities. Keep this cycle going to grow your alliance!

Crafting the Perfect Party: Composition & Synergy

With over 100 characters, building the perfect party can be tough.

  • Use Early Game Powerhouses 💪. Some characters are amazing right from the start. Yusuke’s “Charge Up” makes him a fantastic damage dealer. Iugo is a great early-game tank. The Hero Combo between Francesca and Falward is the best early-game healing you can get.
  • Maintain a Balanced Party ⚖️. A good all-around party should have: a tough front line, at least two healers (runes, items, or skills), a character with a Blunt or Grapple attack for armored enemies, and a mix of single-target and multi-target damage.
  • Don’t Sleep on Late-Game Bloomers 🌸. Some characters, like Mio, feel weak at first but have amazing stat growth and become monsters at high levels. Most mages are also underwhelming until you get high-tier spell runes, then they become the strongest damage dealers in the game. It’s okay to bench a character and bring them back later.
  • Put Story-Mandatory Characters in the Attendant Slot 🧍. If the story forces you to take a character you don’t want to use in battle, put them in the “Attendant” slot. They’ll still be there for the story but won’t take up one of your six valuable combat spots.

Chapter 5: Diversions of a Hero 🎲

Allraan is full of fun minigames. Mastering them isn’t just for fun; you have to beat them to recruit several heroes!

Becoming a Beigoma Grandmaster 🍥

This top-spinning game can be tough at first, but with these tips, you’ll be a champion.

  • Your Skill Doesn’t Matter, Your Top Does. Beigoma is almost all about stats. The starter tops are terrible and will lose to almost everyone. Don’t even try to win with them.
  • Farm Better Beigoma from Monsters 👾. The best way to get new, powerful tops is from rare monster drops. You’ll eventually fight enemies that drop Silver, Gold, and even Rainbow-rarity Beigoma.
  • Wait Until Late Game to Tackle the Questline 👍. The easiest way to beat the Beigoma questline is to wait until you can get to late-game areas. You can farm powerful Gold-rank tops from enemies like the Pawn Demon in the Proving Grounds or the dragons in the Den of Dunes.
  • Bring Dr. Corque for Better Drop Rates 👨‍⚕️. Once you recruit Dr. Corque, putting him in your Support slot increases the drop rate for Beigoma.
  • Master the Clash 💥. The one bit of skill is the “Clash.” If you and your opponent boost at the same time, you’ll start a button-mashing minigame. Winning this deals huge damage and is how you can beat a stronger opponent.
  • Pay Attention to Elements 🔥. Beigoma also have elements that follow the Fire > Wind > Earth > Water cycle. Using the right element against your opponent gives you a small edge.

Winning the Card Game 🃏

The card game is a strategic battle of wits.

  • Learn the Winning Hands 💯. The goal is to have more power on each of the three fields. You get big power bonuses for making special hands of three cards: Straight (4, 5, 6), Flush (three of the same color), Three-of-a-Kind (7, 7, 7), and the super-powerful Straight Flush.
  • Buy Packs to Build Your Deck 🤑. The starting deck is useless. You have to buy card packs from Glen at the Card Shop in your HQ. This gives you Character Cards with unique abilities.
  • Upgrade the Card Shop for Better Packs ⭐. As you upgrade your HQ, you can upgrade the Card Shop. This unlocks new “Extra Packs” with rarer and more powerful cards.
  • Recruit Shixeen by Buying Cards 💳. The secret to recruiting the card master Shixeen isn’t beating people; it’s buying a total of 150 cards from Glen’s shop (that’s 50 packs). Once you do, she’ll appear. Beat her in a match to recruit her.
  • Build Your Deck Around a Strategy 🤓. Look for cards that work together. Some cards get bonuses if all cards on a field are odd-numbered or different colors. Build your deck to make these hands consistently.

The Ultimate Guide to Fishing 🎣

Fishing is a relaxing and simple minigame.

  • Wait for the Big Bite ❗. Cast your line and wait. A fish might nibble a few times, but don’t press the button! Wait until the lure gets pulled all the way underwater with a big splash, then press the button to catch it.
  • Upgrade Your Fishing Spot ⬆️. To catch the rarest fish, you need to fully upgrade the fishing spot at your Castle HQ. This gives you the best rod and makes rare fish appear more often.
  • Fish at Your HQ First 🏰. Once your fishing spot is fully upgraded, fish at all the spots in your castle. You’ll probably catch most of the fish species in the game right there.
  • Hunt for Specific Fish 🐠. After you’ve fished at your HQ, check the Fish book in your library to see what you’re missing. Then, travel to the specific fishing spot on the world map where that fish lives and fish until you catch it.
  • Find Hidden Fishing Spots 🤫. Not all fishing spots are on the map. Walk along coastlines and riverbanks and press the action button. You might find a hidden spot with unique fish needed for recruitment, like the Wheel-Eye Bream for Huang.

Dominating the Cooking Competition 👨‍🍳

This minigame has you, as chef Kurtz, facing off against the evil Dark Dragon Syndicate.

  • Recruit Kurtz in Hishahn 🍳. You can find Kurtz in Hishahn. He needs the “Grilled Tutuva” recipe, which you can get from an NPC in the Treefolk Village. Give him the recipe to recruit him and unlock the Restaurant at your HQ.
  • The Secret to Winning: Omelet and Coconut Water 🤫. For almost every cooking battle, you can win with the same combo. Choose “Omelet” as your appetizer and “Coconut Water” as your dessert. These dishes always get high scores. For the main course, just pick something one of the judges likes.
  • Find the Scroll of Heaven 📜. You’ll face a rival chef named Trey. The first battle is scripted for you to lose. To win the rematch, you need to find the “Scroll of Heaven”. It’s in a glowing spot in the southwestern area of the Seaside Caverns.
  • Recruit Celia Through Cooking 👩‍🍳. As you beat the syndicate members, you’ll eventually be challenged by a masked woman. Beat her in a cooking battle, and she’ll be revealed as Celia, who will then join you.

Chapter 6: Secrets of the Hundred Heroes 🤫

True mastery comes from knowing the things the game never tells you.

The Most Efficient Farming Methods

Leveling and gathering can be a grind, but these methods will save you hours.

  • The Bounty Hill Early EXP Trick 📈. Right after you get your HQ, go to Bounty Hill. If you walk against the invisible wall where a guard is blocking the path, you can trigger random encounters with much higher-level monsters. These fights give you insane amounts of EXP, letting you jump from level 17 to over 30 in just a few battles.
  • Endgame Leveling in the Mysterious Room 🌀. The absolute best place to level characters to 99 is the Mysterious Room in your HQ basement.
  • The Ultimate EXP-Boosting Combo 🚀. To level a character from 1 to 99 in minutes, go to the Mysterious Room with a party of one high-level mage (with a powerful all-target spell like Crimson Nova) and the low-level character you’re training. Equip the trainee with the Growth Badge (doubles EXP) and the Ascent Badge (late-game EXP boost). Finally, put the hero Yulin in your support slot to double all EXP gain. This combo gives you an unbelievable amount of experience.
  • Farm Rare Materials with the Mission Guild 💎. Don’t waste your time trying to farm late-game materials like Excellent Lacquer or Orichalcum from gathering points. They’re rare and respawn slowly. The Mission Guild is the only efficient and reliable way to get these materials.

Hidden Mechanics the Game Doesn’t Tell You

Eiyuden Chronicle has some cool systems working behind the scenes.

  • The “Protect” Mechanic 🫂. Characters have a hidden “affinity” for each other. When an ally is about to take a fatal hit, another character might automatically jump in front to take the damage. This can save a character but also put the protector at risk.
  • Find Rare Battle Chests 🎁. In some areas, you have a small chance to get into a battle that has a treasure chest in it. You have to use a character’s turn to select the “Open the chest” gimmick to get the loot.
  • Don’t Kill All Enemies Before Opening a Battle Chest! ⚠️ If you kill all the enemies before the character opening the chest gets their turn, the battle will end, and you’ll lose the chest and its contents.
  • Save-Scum for “Star Items” in Shops ⭐. Shops will randomly stock rare “Star Items,” like unique recipes or powerful accessories. These items appear and disappear every 30 minutes of real time. If you see one, buy it! You can also save outside a shop and reload your game over and over to try and make one appear.
  • Some Characters Have Hidden Stat Affinities 📊. Certain characters have hidden strengths or weaknesses to specific elements that aren’t on the normal weakness chart. For example, the mage Zabi has a -90 affinity for Fire, meaning he takes way more damage from Fire attacks.
  • Fiery Spirit and Awakening Buffs 🔥. If an ally gets knocked out or falls below 30% HP, certain other characters who have a relationship with them might get a temporary “Fiery Spirit” (50% PWR buff) or “Awakening” (50% MGC buff).

Quality of Life and Exploration Secrets

  • The Castle Well is a Shortcut ⛲. The well in your Castle HQ’s graveyard isn’t just for looks. Interact with it, and it’ll teleport you to the end of the Abandoned Mine, a super handy shortcut!
  • Manage Gear for Benched Characters 🎽. You can access the equipment and runes of every single hero you’ve recruited—even if they aren’t in your party—by talking to the innkeeper (Cassandra) at your HQ. This lets you take valuable gear from heroes you aren’t using.
  • Difficulty Can Be Changed Anytime ⚙️. If you started the game with difficulty modifiers on, you can turn them off at any time in the settings. But be careful: once you turn them off, you can’t turn them back on for that playthrough.
  • Hold the Cancel Button to Skip Dialogue ⏩. On a second playthrough or just want to speed things up? Hold down the cancel button (Circle/B) to fast-forward through all dialogue and cutscenes.

Chapter 7: The Saga Continues: DLC and Beyond ➕

The story of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes doesn’t end with the main campaign!

Tips for the Story Expansion Chapters

  • Understanding the DLC 📖. There are three major story expansion DLCs, each focusing on a key character: Marisa, Seign, and Markus. They tell prequel stories and side adventures that add more to the world and its heroes.
  • Access DLC From Your HQ 🏠. The DLC chapters are accessed from inside your main game save file, usually by interacting with something in that character’s room at your Castle HQ.
  • DLC Uses Your Current Stats 💪. The character you play as in the DLC will have the same level, stats, and gear they have in your main game.
  • Prepare Your DLC Protagonist 🎒. Before starting a DLC chapter, make sure to equip the main character properly. For example, before starting Marisa’s chapter, give her your Dash Boots and best gear to make her solo adventure much easier.

Notes on Game Updates and Patches

  • Check Out Cosmetic DLC 🖌️. There are also cosmetic DLC packs, like the “Pioneer Pack” and “HQ Makeover Pack,” which add new decorations and paint jobs for your castle.
  • Keep Your Game Updated ✅. The game had some bugs and performance issues at launch. The developers have released a lot of patches to fix these. For the best experience, make sure your game is updated to the latest version.
